Custom Buyers Image App & Integrated Portal
EBW—a luxury swimwear company—had a unique challenge. Their seasonal buyers frequently attended samples sales to review and select upcoming designs for inventory decisions. The buyers were using their personal cell phones to take images to reference against several designers swimwear lines and manually categorizing selections via powerpoint in a labor-intensive process.
The ask was to design a custom app, where the buyers could import images from their photo gallery for tagging by size, designer, trend, categories, color and expected supply date. Additionally, there was a need to automate the review process and create custom mood, style and portfolio boards that could be exported to pdf for internal circulation.
What We Delivered
App & Portal
A custom touch-enabled iPhone app that utilized the native OS camera function and synched to a proprietary portal.
The portal is a browser based planning tool. It helps the buyers determine and select styles with in each seasons trends.
Previously the buyers were making manual pdfs and powerpoint documents.
Now image selects and styles can now be arranged on a custom board to be shared or exported for circulation to internal approvers. This significantly cut down on decision making and allowed EBW buyers to make seasonal selects more quickly.
Project Outcome
A modern streamlined solution
Everything But Water now has a merchandise portal that allows their employees to streamline their trend selection, presentation and buying process.
EBW enjoys a reduction in overhead now that the old process has been updated thanks to a better integration between trend boards and order building.
