Identity design for a film production company in Philadelphia.
I based the design around the obvious standout – primary colors and a film reel. The colors overlap to a secondary color palette and purposely resolve into white in the middle as a subtle nod to a camera lens and how light mixes digitally vs additively as results into a brown-black in printing. Film is a medium that is always shown backlit, analogous to web and digital design, however RGB for the main suite of colors was discarded as the audience for this logo most likely correlates the red, blue, yellow primary colors taught to them in elementary school as the ‘correct’ primary colors.
Ultimately the project was sidelined, but I still feel this is a powerful design.
